Mayor John Holbrook has been serving Lake Placid since 1998.
Mayor Holbrook served on the Town Council and has served three terms as
Mayor.
We offer a diverse variety of activities and amenities for your
enjoyment. Whether it is a leisurely walk among our many murals which
earned us the name, The Town of Murals, or taking a class with our local
Clown College, you will agree with Reader’s Digest choice of Lake Placid
as year 2012’s Most Interesting Town.
Lake Placid has everything you could need all packaged in a friendly
and safe environment. We are the southernmost town on Florida’s Lake
Wales Ridge which provides some harbor from hurricane flooding while
being the home of unique wildlife that exists nowhere else in the world.
As I write this in the middle of winter the temperature is a pleasant 68
degrees and our community is bordered on all side by great fishing lakes
whereon the weather can be enjoyed.
Come visit us. You may not want to leave.
